Our Aims
Mission & Ethos
At SupaJam we have developed our careers and student progression programme based on the Gatsby Benchmarks for good careers guidance in schools.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help young people aged between 16-25 with social, emotional or special educational needs to engage in education through an inclusive music industry curriculum to promote skills, knowledge, independence and resilience. This supports a positive and meaningful future in work, higher education or a career in music.
Our Ethos
To be forward thinking, caring and encouraging whilst providing a structured, safe and non-judgemental learning environment that allows all our young people to build confidence and achieve to their full potential.
Our Aims
-
To motivate our students to focus on their futures with regular encouragement, support and positivity.
-
Inspire our students to become independent, confident and motivated to develop their aspirations and take ownership of their future choices and career progression.
-
To provide personal guidance in a friendly, welcoming and confidential atmosphere; to openly discuss future options and any worries or concerns a student may have.
-
Support our students in developing key skills needed for college and beyond including resilience, social communication skills, innovation, leadership and team building.
-
We look to provide a stable careers programme where our students learn from relevant career and labour market information.
-
We look to link our curriculums to various careers both inside and outside of the music industry.
-
We bring various employers and employees into SupaJam so our students can have meaningful and insightful encounters with both.
-
Through our unique sheltered work experience opportunities at SupaJam's Swan Studios, radio station, The Music Shelf and professional music editorial website, SupaJam students build confidence and resilience within a safe environment before moving on to outside organisations.
-
We have regular field trips to further and higher education establishments, to inspire and facilitate our students progression.
"Students benefit from a positive and harmonious environment that is warm and welcoming and provides a safe place for them to develop and grown in confidence"
